Bisexuality remains one of the most misunderstood identities within the LGBTQ+ community. Despite being a significant portion of the queer population, bisexual individuals often face “double erasure” — from both straight and gay communities.
People may assume bisexuality is “just a phase,” or that bi individuals are confused or indecisive. This contributes to harmful stereotypes and makes it harder for bisexual people to feel seen and supported.
Pride Month is an opportunity to challenge these myths and honor bisexual voices. Bi visibility campaigns, education, and storytelling help normalize fluid attraction and affirm that bisexuality is not defined by one’s current partner.
Breaking the binary is part of the broader queer movement. Embracing bisexuality means expanding our understanding of love — and letting people define it on their own terms.
